'The West has the best democracy money can buy', that assertion can hardly be disputed with a straight face. The elections in the US impact on us all and therefore are of great interest to all people of earth.

The fireworks and circus that surround the ongoing battle between Clinton and Obama are keeping everyone's attention focused away from what is important.
For the record, whilst I have started out backing Clinton because I believe that a woman who rises up to greatness is weighted and measured above and beyond of what a man in her position would be. To put it in other words, for a woman to break the glass ceiling she must strap on rocket boosters to reach for the sky.
As the campaign progressed, I am leaning towards Osama.
Mainly because it would be nice for a change to have an erudite leader of the free world.
If speech is a trait unique human and it is what makes us work well as a group, Obama would inspire us all to greatness.
I am weary of his grevious sins such as not wearing the US flag in the lapel and having a Pastor who believes that the white establishment is rogering the blacks hard. However I am willing to forgive him those plainly disqualifying holes in his otherwise apparently stellar character.
There are ways the desperate wide-eyed Clinton still can still win the nomination but the most probable involve time travel or assassination of Obama.

Sadly, the election that so many anticipate as a liberation of the entire world from the yoke of tyranny and darkness has already been lost.
Bush Mk.III, McCain, he of volatile temper has already been elected the president of United States.
As much as I find it distasteful to quote the man, it was Stalin who is alleged to have said, "Those who cast votes decide nothing, those who count votes decide everything."

This video [15min well worth downloading] of a researcher and a Journalist investigating Karl Rove's accidental release of 500 e-mail messages to GeorgeBush.com (rightwing spankfest) to GeorgeBush.org (a leftwing spankfest) will open your eyes on how the election has been stolen. To summarise:

• In the last election 2004, over 3,000,000 votes were declared spoiled, largely by the Republicans.
  
• In some states, Bush margin was as little as 5000 votes with 30,000 votes declared spoiled.
  
• Spoiled votes are largely minorities and likely to vote democrat. A black is 900% more likely to have his vote declared spoiled than a white, a latino 500% and American Indian 2000%. Clearly these are not well off people likely to vote for the GOP.
  
• Many soldiers are denied the right to vote on the grounds that too many live at one address (military base).
  

Combine this frightening disclosure with the fact that many US states now use black box electronic voting machines that are open to remote tempering. An ATM and a One armed bandit has more controls than a voting machine though the prize is much, much greater.

There is only one conclusion to be drawn as many have asserted that the US as a world power has stopped being a democracy a while ago and has instead gotten very good at management perception of the people.

My prediction for 2008 is McCain 'by a narrow margin', 4 more years of Bushism.
